How to Choose a Cyber Security Company in Coimbatore: 7 Questions to Ask

The right questions to ask before trusting a partner with your security.

Choosing a cyber security partner is one of the most important decisions a business makes — you are trusting them with the keys to everything. Yet many companies pick based on price alone and regret it. Whether you are in Coimbatore, elsewhere in Tamil Nadu or anywhere in India, here are the seven questions that separate a real security partner from a box-ticking vendor.

1. What certifications do your testers hold?

The individuals doing the work matter more than the logo on the invoice. Look for recognised, hands-on certifications like OSCP and CEH. These prove the testers can think and act like real attackers, not just run a tool.

2. Do you test manually, or only with automated scanners?

Automated scanners are useful but shallow — they miss the business-logic flaws that cause the worst breaches. A serious partner combines automated scanning with manual, hands-on testing. If the answer is "we run a scan and send the report", keep looking.

3. Can I see a sample report?

A good report is clear, prioritised and actionable — it tells you what is wrong, how serious it is, and exactly how to fix it, in language your team can act on. If the sample is an unreadable dump of raw scanner output, that is what you will get.

You are not buying a scan. You are buying clarity about your risk — and a clear path to fixing it.

4. Is a retest included?

Finding problems is only half the job. Confirm that a free retest is included after you fix the issues, so you have proof the fixes actually worked. This is the step that turns a report into real security.

5. Do you understand my compliance requirements?

If you need to meet SEBI CSCRF, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA or STQC/BIS ER:01, your partner should know these frameworks well and be able to map their findings directly to the relevant requirements — saving you a second, separate exercise.

6. What does support look like after the report?

Security is ongoing, not a one-off. Ask whether they help with remediation, whether they offer 24/7 monitoring (a managed SOC) for after the test, and how quickly they respond if you have an incident.

7. Do you have local presence and real references?

A partner with a genuine local presence — and clients willing to vouch for them — is easier to work with and more accountable. Ask for references in your industry, and speak to them.
